You have just come into a very special blog which aims to help you approach a kind of magic music. All music is magic but this very one is something different. It is like a jellyfish or like a benign bacillus which you never get rid of it if you get it. I'm talking about an urban "underground" music which was composed and performed during the 30's in 3-4 big towns and harbours of Greece and is called "rebetiko".
Perhaps you have heard this word before but I'd like to differentiate myself and take a distance from all others who talk about this music. I do not automatically connect it to songs played by bouzouki as the biggest majority does... Anyway, I'd rather give you some musical examples in order to see if you get the "message". If you don't it's OK I can understand the reason why and you can continue to other blogs. But if you allow yourself to be touched, then I would be happy to show you a new way to get closer contact to your heart, I would be happy to offer you simple ways to escape from the brain washing of the contemporary music industries...
